Above all else, we want your child’s school experience to be happy, with engaging activities which will inspire them. This works best when school and home work together.
Here are some ways that you can help:
READING – the key to everything in school is the ability to read and to foster a lifelong love of it. Please read to, with and also make listening to your child read an enjoyable time and as often as you can. Reading books should be brought to school every day. However please share all ways to read such as leaflets and magazine and log into our Giglets where there is a wide range of books to read and listen to.
HOMEWORK – Reading, times tables and spelling practise through the week. Spelling checks take place on a Monday and new spelling patterns are given. Spend time together to go through these new patterns and words.
PE KIT – PE kit can be worn to school instead of uniform, on your child’s PE day. PE day is Wednesday.
FRUIT – being a ‘Healthy School’ we promote eating fruit as a playtime snack. Fruit can be brought in from home.
JEWELLERY – may we remind parents / carers that for safety reasons, jewellery must not be worn to school.
UNIFORM – we enjoy a sense of belonging by wearing our school uniform every day. Please label all items.
ATTENDANCE – excellent attendance of 95%+ is essential for progress. Please give your child the best chance of making progress by being on time every day.
COMMUNICATION – classroom staff use ClassDojo to keep parents / carers up to date with class news. Please check our app regularly and stay in touch with school throughout the term. We also use X / Twitter to celebrate our learning.
