Dosbarth Tâf is a designated class catering for pupils on the Autistic Spectrum. Our pupils range from 3 to 11 years old.
We teach using a thematic, multi-sensory approach. Our activities are pupil centred. We aim to provide our pupils with a broad variety of different therapies and approaches such as Intensive Interaction, Lego Therapy, Tac Pac and Sensory Integration. Literacy and Numeracy targets are taught in various ways using some specialist interventions. We have a Total Communication approach with signalong, Objects of Refernce, Core Boards, PECS, VOCAS to develop Speech and Communication.
As well as educational approaches we also provide our pupils with extra curricular fun activities such as swimming, horse riding, skiing and weekly days out on the bus. We strongly believe that a happy child is a child that will learn, we therefore try to ensure that we provide our pupils with fun, positive experiences.
Our class is staffed with a class teacher and four learning support assistants.
