Whilst developing skills in the Areas of Learning identified above, we will also be ensuring that your child develops skills in the Three Cross Curricular Responsibilities:

Above all else, we want your child’s school experience to be happy with engaging activities which will inspire them. This works best when school and home work together. Please approach your child’s teacher or make an appointment if we can help in any way.
Here are some ways that you can help:
READING – the key to everything in school is the ability to read and to foster a lifelong love of it. Please read to, with and also make listening to your child read an enjoyable time and as often as you can. Children can choose a library book on a Friday to take home and return it when they have finished reading it. However please share all ways to read such as leaflets and magazine and log into our Giglets where there is a wide range of books to read and listen to.
PE KIT – PE kit can be worn to school instead of uniform, on your child’s PE day. PE day is Tuesday.
Nursery Part Time Mornings – Thursday Afternoons – Tuesday
FRUIT – being a ‘Healthy School’ we promote eating fruit as a playtime snack. Fruit is sold in school for 30p or can be brought in from home. Water and milk will be provided in school, please do not send in squash.
JEWELLERY – may we remind parents / carers that for safety reasons, jewellery should be kept to a strict minimum. Small, stud earrings are permitted.
UNIFORM – we enjoy a sense of belonging by wearing a school uniform every day. Plain black shoes or trainers, as well as plain black or grey jogging bottoms. All items MUST be labelled.
ATTENDANCE – excellent attendance of 95%+ is essential for learning and social success. Please give your child the best chance of making progress by being on time every day. Call the Office if your child is unwell.
COMMUNICATION – classroom staff use ClassDojo to keep parents / carers up to date with class news.
Please check it regularly and stay in touch with school throughout the term.
Here’s to another fun and busy term ahead. Remember to follow us on X / Twitter @YsgolMyrddin and we look forward to working with you to support your child.
Diolch yn fawr / thank you very much,
